Maybelline Babylips in Pink Punch and Intense Care

Finally Maybelline have shipped their famous Babylips over to the UK, and blimey am I glad they did. The full collection features 3 SPF balms in the form of Intense Care, Hydrate and Mint Fresh and 3 tinted balms in Cherry Me, Pink Punch and Peach Kiss. I picked up one from each section, but to be honest I am tempted to get the whole range.

The formula is incredibly moisturising but equally not heavy on the lips. It claims to moisturise for 8 hours and while I don't think it lasts quite that long on a day to day basis with eating and drinking involved, it does last a while. Pink Punch leaves a gorgeous pink sheer finish on the lips and also smells amazing. I have been wearing this a lot recently to keep my lips hydrated but with a hint of colour. Intense Care has been my go to when my lips feel especially sore, and though I do love it, it is my least favourite of the two because of the funny taste it leaves in your mouth. Not exclusive to this product as I get that a lot with SPF lip products, but just personally I find it unpleasant.

Currently in stock at Boots for £2.99 with a Buy One Get One Half Price Offer going down, there really is no excuse not to try them. After all, they made us Brits wait long enough.

Sleek Face Form Kit

Sleek Make Up Face Form Kit in Light
As someone who has a perfectly round face, it was years before I dared a contour. I started off small with just a bronzer but after gaining more and more confidence with my make up application I decided it was time to invest in a contour kit. Sleek's Contour Kit is the product that everyone raves about when it comes to drugstore beauty, but on my latest shopping venture I could not find it anywhere. It seemed to have been replaced by this little gem. (I have checked online since then, and discovered that the Contour Kit is still available via Sleek's website if not still in stores). It had the contour-highlight duo I was after and the blush was such a gorgeous colour, I cut my losses and stopped searching for the contour kit to see how I got on with this.

The answer to that question? Incredibly well. The colours are pigmented without being too harsh and the look they give are subtle but fantastic. I usually use my Real Techniques Contour Brush (part of the Core Collection)to define my cheekbones with the bronzer, before sweeping the highlighter on the top of my cheekbones with my Model's Own Powder Brush (part of the 5 piece set). I finish the look off with the blush on a large fluffy blush brush just dabbed on the apples of my cheeks.

I haven't photographed a look, as in the next few weeks I will be starting a new AW13 Series which will feature a contoured look so I am gonna save it until then!

L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverRiche Range

L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverRiche Leave In Masque Spray; Shampoo; Conditioner and Hair Masque.

So although this may seem like a sponsored post since I literally own every product in a range, it isn't and I foolishly spent some of the few pennies I have on all of these products, but I love them so much I don't care. The EverRiche range first came to my attention after Essie Button posted about them, then Alix from I Covet Thee mentioned them in a video, and from then on I was itching to get my hands on them. I started small by purchasing the two masks, but it really didn't take long before my OCD got the better of me and I had the whole range staring at me happily in my bathroom.

First and foremost, all these products smell incredible. Not only that, but the smell lingers and I can normally still whiff the amaaazing scent the day after. It smells like vanilla & coconut slightly, not too sweet but enough to make you smile. The products themselves are all fantastic in their own right. The shampoo and conditioner give me soft, sleek hair that makes it enjoyable to wash. The spray mask is so nice as well, and really just gives the hair something extra which is great after too much heat styling. It is also very light, and as all these products are for dry hair, I was worried that it would weigh my hair down, but it didn't at all. The mask in the tub is lovely, but right now I am not sure whether or not it is too much for my hair, since it isn't dry or if that is another product I am using, the results are pretty varied.

I do love all these products, and would definitely repurchase the shampoo and conditioner, but I feel like one of the masks would be enough, so I am going to have to decide after I finish these!

The Look: Back to School

Friday, 6 September 2013

Products used: Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer in 02 Nude; Garnier BB Cream in Light; Topshop Blush in Head Over Heels (similar here); No 7 Stay Perfect Mascara in Black; Maybelline Babylips in Pink Punch; No 7 Amazing Eyes Pencil in 20 Leaf (similar here); Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and on Bronze.

I may have finished school two years ago now (wow that went fast), but I will be heading back to uni in a couple of weeks, so the new, fresh feeling that September brings is something I know all too well. However, it does also mean that the festival esque beauty trends of the summer die down to bring us a more professional look. I personally wouldn't have got away with much make up at the school I attended, so a minimal look was always necessary.

For this look, I applied the BB Cream as a base, as it is a fairly light product, with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I added my faaav concealer under my eyes and on any blemishes, then blended the Topshop Blush onto the apples of my cheeks with my Real Techniques Stipling Brush. For the eyes, I applied my Maybelline Colour Tattoo and blended with a fluffy brush. I lined the lower lash line with the khaki eyeliner by No 7, before applying the Stay Perfect Mascara from No 7 as well. All these products last really well on me, which means that there will be minimal touch ups during the day. Finally I slicked on the Babylips in Pink Punch to add a small pop of colour.

What kind of look are you going to be rocking for back to school/uni?

The Haul #2: Drugstore Beauty

Wednesday, 4 September 2013

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold and Pomegranate; Bourjois Cream Blush in Rose Tender; Bourjois 1 Second Gel Polish in Blue Moonlight; Topshop Matte Nails in Dress Up; Rimmel Salon Pro Nail Varnish in Disco Fever and Rhythm and Blues; Sleek Face Form Kit; Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Paint in Maganese Purple; Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in Light Porcelain; The Body Shop Peppermint Soothing Foot Scrub; Maybelline Babylips in Intense Care and Pink Punch; L'Oreal Hair Expertise EverRiche Shampoo and Conditioner for Dry, Fine Hair.
Yet again my bank balance has taken a bit of a beating and I won't deny I am feeling a bit of shoppers' guilt over this one. However, on the plus side, I love pretty much everything I have bought, so I can't be too down in the dumps about it! Like my last haul, almost all these things are brand new purchases without any previous testing (apart from the Colour Tattoos). I have finally completed my EverRiche Collection (post coming soon) by purchasing the shampoo and conditioner, so my OCD has been appeased for the time being! The foot scrub was on offer for half price and the Babylips are finally back in stock after the frenzy of their release. Most of these things are bits and bobs I have picked up for my AW13 Beauty Series, which is coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
