Hair Chalk

Pink Hair Chalk (Pack of 2) - Topshop £7.50

First and foremost, I would like to announce that my exams are officially over for the year and my first year of uni has now technically finished, though I will still be living here until the end of May. Which means that I am going to have plenty of time for blogging and this site will probably be seeing more content than ever over the next few weeks!

Secondly, those of you that follow me on Instagram will know that last night I decided to colour the ends of my hair. I was shopping yesterday and saw this pack of two hair chalks, and decided why not? I have always been curious to see what I would look this with dip dyed ends but never really wanted to to take the full plunge so hair chalk seemed like a perfect alternative.

It is very messy and you will get covered. Be under no illusion. It will rub off on your clothes, it will get on the floor, it will cover your hands, it will make your bathroom look like a murder scene. But, it does have some lovely results! I went with red, because I thought it would come out as a darker pink on my hair, since I am a darker blonde. I found this article from Lauren Conrad's beauty blog really useful for chalking hair and there are plenty of Youtube tutorials.

I can't comment on how long it will last just yet, but I will keep you informed. I would also recommend a deep conditioning treatment after using hair chalk, since it will suck any moisture out of your hair, I can literally feel it already.

I would recommend this to people who aren't sure about dip dying, I have really enjoyed having my hair a bit different and if you can't have pink hair when you are young when can you?

It's good to be back!

The Sun Has Got His Hat On.

Varsity Jacket - University; Vest Top - H&M; Tassle Skirt - Zara; Necklace - River Island; Waistcoat - New Look; Sunglasses - H&M; Bag - ASOS; Nails - Collection 2000 in 43 Fruit Salad.
Wow I haven't blogged in so long! Exams are currently taking up pretty much all my time, but with the sun out and all I couldn't really resist doing an outfit post! I finish exams for summer on Friday afternoon and then get to go down to the South coast for a few days after I finish so that will be a nice break from the stress, especially if this weather keeps up! Then I'll be heading back to my Mum and Dad's for the weekend, and having a trip to Alton Towers with some friends from home and then my birthday is coming up shortly after so I have a lot to look forward to!

My outfit may be slightly optimistic for the temperature but when the sun comes out I can't help but whack on the skirts and flip flops. I know the colours aren't exactly spring-like but I think it's a nice way to wear monochrome for a day look. I love the nail colour too, my camera wasn't really behaving so they aren't exactly the colour they look in real life but I will instagram a picture that you can check too so that might be a better example.

Hope you all enjoy the lovely weather!

Black Velvet.

Saturday, 13 April 2013

Black Velvet Peplum - Vero Moda; Skinny Jeans - Miss Selfridge; Bag - Ebay; Shoes - Primark; Eye Colour - Crayon in Black Jack from Topshop.
I have finally returned to the 21st century with a fully working phone and a laptop that has wifi once again! I had a great time in the Lake District, and some surprisingly good weather. Tonight I am going to a fancy dress party and tomorrow I am heading back to uni, so this weekend is gonna be a busy one.

This is an outfit that I wore for dinner one night whilst I was away, quite casual, but then again, I was in the Lake District. I found the top in a shop in the town where I was staying, down to £10 in the sale. I don't actually own any velvet look clothes, but I loved this top as soon as I saw it. My camera didn't quite agree with me when I shot this look, but there are roses almost embossed in the fabric, and it truly is a lovely top.
I blended Topshop Crayon in Black Jack over my eyes, which is a thick black pencil with gold glitter in it. I usually use it purely as an eyeliner, but now that I have al my lovely new make up brushes (post coming soon) I can finally experiment a bit more.
My hair was driving me a bit mad this holiday, I didn't have any heat styling stuff with me all week, so luckily it looked okay natural, but the roots are getting a bit much for me now, I'm thinking I may even cut it shoulder length? What do you think?
Anyway, it's great to be back. Missed you all.

I'll be back soon.

I'm currently away in the Lake District, finding life difficult without WiFi, but on the plus side, look at my view.

L'Oréal Paris Confetti Topcoat

Thursday, 4 April 2013

L'Oréal Confetti Topcoat; Topshop Nails in World's End (Blue); Topshop Nails in Parma Violet (Lilac)
To be honest, I have never been much of a glitter nail polish person, I find it takes too long to remove and normally flakes off anyway. However, non-glitter top coats are huge trend this season, and this one from L'Oreal is a great one. I had read about it on a few beauty blogs, and one of the said (sorry I can't remember who you are!) that they don't have the problem with it flaking it, it all seemed to seal itself in. Since I loved the effect so much, I went out and bought it from Boots for £4.99. I had already done a mismatched base in time for Easter anyway, so I thought I would just go ahead and layer it on top of that - and OMG, I am loving this. It applies really easily and after wearing it for three days it still hasn't chipped at all, no glitter flakes have come off at all. The formula itself is a clear nail topcoat with matte black and white glitter particles in it. It gives a sort of salt and pepper effect, which is really lovely.

I would heartily recommend this lovely little topcoat, and if you are more a fan of sparkle than this matte polish, it comes in a number of shades, one of which is a glittery golden toned one.

As of late.

Life recently has been slightly hectic. My last week at uni ended with all deadlines completed and a very drunken night on the town before getting the train home the next day with a suitcase I could not lift. Since I have been home, I have redecorated my bedroom and attempted to start revision for exams, but it's not going too well. I keep getting distracted and it's hard trying to fit seeing all my friends and family in around it all too.
The Easter bank holiday has been fairly chilled, so again getting work done hasn't really happened, but I have enjoyed eating ridiculous amounts of food. So yay. Posts may be slightly sparse until I finish my exams (26th April cannot come soon enough) but after that I shall have nothing to do but blog and get in shape for summer - if it ever arrives.
Happy Easter to all, hope you all enjoy your chocolate!
